BLÆVAR FROM CREEKSIDE FARM

Blævar from Creekside Farm is an 11 year old gelding. He is well bred with a sweet personality and lots of potential as a tölting machine on the trail or oval track. Blævar is always willing to please and light to the aids. He has a very cooperative character and looks to his rider for confidence when navigating new situations. This guy would be perfect for an intermediate to advanced rider looking to develop a horse with considerable potential. Blævar was lightly started as a youngster but has had little training since then until he arrived at Taktur in December of 2023. He has grown in confidence and understanding every week, and his other  gaits continue to improve as he gains strength. Blævar prefers tölt over the other gaits, and has free shoulder movements with beautiful, natural self-carriage.

It is no surprise that Blævar shows so much natural ability. He is out of two evaluated horses, with his sire receiving 9.0 for tölt and his dam receiving 8.5 in assessments. Some of you may recognize Blævar’s dam, Brá. This mare was a successful tölt competition mare both with Carrie and Alicia Flanigan, who was a youth rider at the time. Blævar continues his training at Merrimack Valley Icelandics in Boxford, MA since June 1st. He has very much enjoyed joining a new herd, training in Drill Team and trails and has gained much confidence. Our barn has an opening at this moment should new owner need a training board to further his education. His gaits are improving and so is his confidence with new riders in the lesson program.

ÓFEIGUR FRÁ BERGI

Ófeigur frá Bergi is a 14 year old imported gelding. He is bred from well known Berg in Iceland, winning many first prices for stallions including Sægrímur frá Bergi. His Sire Uggi frá Bergi received 9 for tölt and trot, 9.5 for pace. His personality is kind and willing to please. He is sensitive to the aids and loves to work. He took his time to adjust to the environment and has now settled. He is very friendly in the herd. He has been trained at Merrimack Valley Icelandics for the last 3 years for trails, beaches, breed demos and oval track. His gaits are clear and well separated with speed and power. His tölt offers slow, medium and fast powerful strides. Trot is secure and pleasant. Canter has good beat and power and the pace is there but not trained yet. His shoulders move well, and he has good lift. This horse would flourish as a luxury riding horse or as a competition horse for intermediate to advanced riders.
